The other point of contrast is how it captures audio. Plenty of people hate the awkward moment when a bot shows up in the participant list. Otter's Mac and Windows desktop app records bot-free, and there's a Chrome extension plus iOS and Android apps if you'd rather capture from a browser or phone. You can still send the AI Notetaker to Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Google Meet when you want it hands-off. Live transcription with speaker identification runs during the call, and summaries come out with decisions and action items already pulled out.

Where Otter gets more opinionated is vertical packaging. There's a Sales setup with CRM sync and live coaching tips, a Recruiting Agent that syncs notes with Greenhouse, an SDR Agent that runs demos and books meetings from your website, plus Education and Media workflows for lectures and interviews. That breadth is useful, but the homepage is light on specifics: it doesn't name which CRMs it supports or which languages live transcription covers.
