Most teams don't have an AI problem. They have a tab problem. The pitch on workspace.google.com is AI "built into your collaboration tools," and the product list backs it up. Gemini shows up in Gmail starting at the cheapest Starter plan, there's a standalone Chat with Gemini, Gemini Notebook as an AI research assistant, Studio for AI automation, Vids for AI video creation and editing, and Pics as an AI image editor. Google also advertises Workspace Intelligence, described as "personalized context across every app," which is the part that actually addresses the tab problem if it works as described. AppSheet rounds things out for no-code internal apps.

Here's the honest framing: this isn't a standalone AI tool you bolt on. It's the AI layer of Google Workspace, so you're buying business email, Drive storage, Meet and the rest along with it. If your company already lives in Gmail and Docs, that's the whole appeal. The pricing page shows Starter at $7 per user per month and Standard at $14 on an annual commitment, with a 14-day free trial and launch discounts. If you're on Microsoft 365, or you just want a smarter chatbot, the math and the migration look very different. The page we reviewed is mostly navigation and marketing copy, so expect to learn the real depth of each AI feature during the trial, not before it.
